Q&A
What does it cost?
A: Cost is dependent on what the client needs. Generally this cost can be between R12k and R20k per stack.
ISS always try to offer the most cost effective way to meet clients needs and are always willing to negotiate better prices when multiple measurements need to be taken on the same site.
What is your availability?
A: ISS will always try to accommodate clients ASAP but always recommend that they should plan to contact us at least 3 weeks in advance to make it easier to book a date for testing.
Will you make a site visit before quoting?
A: Yes, we will always make site visits free of charge and advise customers on what will be required to prepare their plants for testing.
If the factory is not based close to JHB then we often request an explanation of the plant layout and to send photographs of their stacks.
How long does it take to get results?
A: ISS are normally able to get a final report to the client within 10 working days of the date the samples were taken. This is however dependent on the type of analysis required since some lab techniques take longer than others. We are always mindful of the clients needs and will push to get fast results out when there are strict deadlines that need to be met. Obviously though, this is not always possible so we strongly advise clients to get us on site ASAP if there are time constraints.
Does the company have an up to date safety file?
A: Yes, ISS sampling staff always have valid medical certificates and working at heights certificates. We always have our letters of good standing up to date and carry public liability insurance. We are able to provide both digital and hard copy safety files if required.
Do you have references?
A: Yes, ISS have done work at industrial plants of all descriptions across South Africa. We are happy to supply references and contact details.
How long has ISS been in business?
A: ISS are one of the longest running sampling companies in SA and have been registered for nearly 20 years.
What will our plant need to do to prepare for sampling?
A: We require either 220v power or compressed air supply within 20m of the sampling location. We also need a safe working platform, rooftop or ground access from which we can access the sampling ports. We can often install our own sampling ports and access the stack from alternate positions when needed.
Do you offer any other services?
A: No, ISS is focused only on point source emission measurements. We will however offer advice and recommendations with regards to related services when applicable.
